THE PROCESS

We like to put the power in your hands and like to make things as simple as possible for you to be able to complete your window film solutions yourself, saving on installation costs. This being said we do offer installation services should you require our professional help.

  • Measure your glass panels, and write down a list of panel sizes. Take note of the width of material we offer to calculate how many panels you will fit on a width and how many meters you will need.

  • Place your order of material you require from LuxShield. (We also offer window film tools should you be looking to install this yourself.)

If you would like to install the film yourself please continue to step 3. Alternatively, if you would like one of our installation professionals to install on your behalf, please get in contact for a bespoke quotation.

  • If you are deciding to install this yourself, we would advise cleaning down the existing glass from any residue. Cleaning alcohol or a soap and water solution can be sprayed onto the surface, whilst a dish sponge will help ensure the cleanliness of the glass. Then wipe down water with squeegee, and wipe around the edges with a microfibre cloth.

  • We would advise rolling out your material on a clean surface, ensuring the film does not kink and remains flat. With your measurements, cut the panels you require with a small amount of excess (We advise around 20mm excess).

We do offer pre cut sizes if you would like to contact us following your order with your desired sizes.

  • We advise a solution in a spray bottle of 3 drops of Johnsons Baby Shampoo (Secret ingredient!), to every 2 Litres of water. Spray the glass panel, then whilst working with a partner for ease… hold up the material and peel the release liner.

Then spray the adhesive side. Apply the film to the glass, spray the front whilst ensuring the glass is fully covered. Squeegee the film down to squeeze out the liquid.

Get your small squeegee card and knife. Use the card to tuck the film into the edges of the window and then use the card as a guide to protect the film whilst cutting the excess off of the film.

Finally, spray and squeegee down once more to ensure all bubbles are removed. Then Wipe down edges.

**Pro tip - Use a dry tissue around the squeegee card when pressing the edges down to ensure any fluting is eliminated.
